Kordsa provides carbon fiber fabric for TRB electric vehicle (EV) battery housing

The carbon fiber fabrics provided by Kordsa provide TRB lightweight structures with more opportunities for lightweight electric vehicles.

Kordsa (Izmut, Turkey) recently reached an agreement with TRB Lightweight Structures (Huntington, UK), a global high-volume composite material manufacturing company, to provide carbon fiber fabric for TRB's mass production of composite battery housings for electric vehicles (EV).

The project started at the TRB plant in the UK and will continue to be carried out at the company’s plant in Kentucky, USA. Kordsa will provide carbon fiber fabrics through its American company Fabric Development Inc. Kordsa reports that it has been sending goods to the UK since November 2020.

"Through this project, we are now expanding the scope of life through new collaborations in the field of composite materials," said Ali Çalışkan, CEO of Kordsa. "This valuable supplier agreement with TRB will enable our carbon fiber fabric to be used in EV battery packs, thereby helping to reduce its weight without compromising its quality. We are very happy to work with TRB. Have a similar vision for the future-to contribute to the world's successful transition to sustainable transportation."
