KRAIBURG TPE launches conductive TPE material with adhesion to polyolefin or polyamide

KRAIBURG TPE is now providing conductive TPE materials with adhesion to polyolefin or polyamide. These are complementary to the THERMOLAST K product portfolio and represent a convincing innovation.

Innovative applications of sensors in the automotive industry, static elimination components or smart textiles for sportswear and safety clothing all require materials with specific electrical properties. Conductive TPE opens up new opportunities for such applications in terms of touch quality, functionality and design. KRAIBURG TPE is facing the challenge and now offers two new materials of conductive TPE series to successfully serve this emerging market. Existing and new customers will not only benefit from the expanded product portfolio, but will also benefit from personalized advice and services tailored to their needs, regardless of the stage of the project.

The EC series with polypropylene adhesion provides a resistance of <101Ωcm, a Shore A hardness of 70-80, and a density of 0.97-0.99 g/cm3. The unique EC/PA series bonded with polyamide has a resistance of <103Ωcm and a hardness of 70-80 Shore A, with a density of 0.96-0.97 g/cm3. Both products are black.

Customers will benefit from the following characteristics: excellent electrical conductivity; thermoplastic processability; multi-component injection molding with good adhesion to various thermoplastics; non-sticky surface; sealing and uniform surface.

Dr. Johannes Krückel, Key Account Manager of KRAIBURG TPE TPE, said: “After comprehensive testing, we have expanded our product portfolio to include conductive TPE to provide services to customers from a single source now and in the future. We will continue to provide services for classic applications. Services, but new and other applications also have obvious development trends. Therefore, we expect conductive TPE to play an important role in the future market."

Two new conductive THERMOLAST K series from KRAIBURG TPE are now available worldwide.
