KraussMaffei Berstorff plans to build a 55,000-square-meter production and office complex in the Laatzen / Rethen Ost Industrial Park in Hanover

KraussMaffei Berstorff plans to build a 55,000-square-meter production and office complex in the Laatzen / Rethen Ost Industrial Park in Hanover.

The complex is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. It will become an advanced technology center, production and office base, which can accommodate 750 employees.

"This new complex lays the groundwork for our future development. We will continue to innovate and inherit the quality of German manufacturing and Industry 4.0," said Matthias Sieverding, president of the KraussMaffei Group's extrusion technology business unit.

He stated that KraussMaffei consciously chose Hanover as a production base to shape the future with experienced employees. "Klaus Mafibersdorf plans to relocate to the new complex by the end of 2022." Matthias Sieverding added.

Advanced Extrusion Technology Innovation Center

The main feature of the new complex is the establishment of an innovation center with advanced extrusion technology. It will be equipped with more than 20 advanced machines, including small experimental systems and production machines. At that time, the demanding and difficult extrusion processing can be tested on different systems according to the actual production conditions.

The innovation center also pays special attention to the treatment of plastic nozzle materials, which can be used to make new materials for recycling.

Optimizing production according to Industry 4.0

According to KraussMaffei Bersdorf, the new complex will follow the principles of Industry 4.0 for production adjustment.

In Laatzen, KraussMaffei Bersdorf will build a smart factory to network in real time with production and processing data to realize production visualization and data evaluation. In addition, KraussMaffei Besdorf will use ultra-modern machine tools in the production process to continuously improve production efficiency and reduce the production time of extruded parts. "This will allow us to optimize delivery deadlines for the benefit of our customers," Matthias Sieverding said.
