LeddarTech to showcase industry’s first 3D solid-state lidar at CES 2018

LeddarTech will showcase LeddarCore LCA2 at CES 2018 in Las Vegas next month. This product is the industry's first 3D solid-state LiDAR (SSL) integrated circuit (IC) and will power the car Mass production of Class Lidar products.

LCA2 IC engineering samples and LCA2 based 3D flash lidar modules (A-samples) will be on display at the booth. At that time, the company will also use the lidar system to showcase LeddarCore LCA3, which is still in the research and development stage and will provide the first engineering samples in 2018.

LeddarCore IC can generate 245,000 digitized waveforms and a large number of sample-based arithmetic operations from nearly 1.3 billion samples per second. Using the company's patented signal processing algorithm, this type of waveform can be further processed, and its number of runs will exceed 25 billion times per second, thereby generating a large number of lidar data sets, which can achieve the most recent ADAS and autonomous driving applications .

LeddarTech recently received $ 101 million in investment from several strategic partners, and the company has also signed a number of commercial cooperation agreements with a number of important automotive companies. The company's business model is to provide first-level (parts) manufacturers with lidar and related patented technology built in LeddarCore IC, and develop custom solid-state lidar reference designs with it, aiming to meet the needs of different car companies. Design specifications required. It is worth mentioning that its strategic partners include: Apollo, IDT, Magneti Marelli and Osram.

LeddarCore LCA2 has been nominated as the winner of the CES 2018 Best Innovation Award, involving two categories of projects: vehicle intelligence and autonomous driving technology, and built-in technology.
