Luxembourg cap maker UNITEDCAPS and Braskem launch bio-based plastic VICTORIA and PROFLATSEAL caps

Luxembourg-based bottle cap maker UNITEDCAPS and Brazilian petrochemical company Braskem have announced that they will supply bio-based plastic caps made from sugar cane to the market.

Bioethanol is a raw material of green polyethylene. The bio-based plastic used in the joint bottle cap is a renewable bioplastic that replaces traditional petrochemical raw materials and is made from sugar cane.

As a renewable raw material, sugarcane captures carbon dioxide in the atmosphere during each growth cycle. This means that the production of new green polyethylene can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional polyethylene made from fossil materials.

United Caps will use Blasco's bioplastic resin to manufacture its VICTORIA series caps and PROFLATSEAL. Series caps.

Among them, the VICTORIA series bottle cap is a 30/25 screw cap designed for non-sparkling beverages, and PROFLATSEAL is a bottle cap specially designed for dairy products and non-sparkling beverages. Install the application.

"There is no doubt that green polyethylene is suitable for all end-of-life scenarios. Our ethanol is made from renewable raw materials and has a clear supply chain regulatory certification." Said Brendan Hill, Sales Manager, Brasco Netherlands .

"Using bio-based plastics to develop high-performance lightweight bottle caps are two ways we pursue more sustainable operations," said Astrid Hoffman-Lester, chief marketing and innovation officer for United Caps. Astrid Hoffmann-Leist) said.
