Mearthane Products Corp. (MPC) has acquired Polyurethane Moulding Industries (PMI) to expand the polyurethane and metal parts product portfolio

Mearthane Products Corp. (MPC) has acquired Polyurethane Moulding Industries (PMI), which is the fifth acquisition in the past three years to expand the development and manufacturing of polyurethane and metal parts. The terms of the transaction announced on February 26 have not been disclosed.

PMI, a subsidiary of Woonsocket, is a provider of chemical injection molding and customized parts repair services. The company provides 3D printer covers, ATM bezels, camera covers, medical instrument front and side panels, and wheelchair seats.

MPC President Pete Kaczmarek said: "PMI's RIM business will expand our existing RIM process range to include rigid materials for cabinets, housings and other structural components, including excellent precision painting and finishing processes. In addition, PMI brings With a new customer base, we can now provide them with a wider range of customized polyurethane solutions. "

According to Mearthane in Cranston, PMI President Len Strapponi will join Mearthane as Director of Business and Process Development at RIM.

Strapponi said in a statement: "We are very pleased to be part of the MPC team and look forward to the new joint venture's opportunities for the development of our RIM and painting services."

Mearthane said that PMI's Brian Johnson will take over as Woonsocket's operations manager.

According to the company, Mearthane continues to maintain and expand its applications in media processing, defense, fitness and entertainment, medical equipment, and industry.

The company acquired Morris & Broms L.L.C., a precision stamping and sheet metal processing service provider based in Cranston, in April 2019.

Prior to this, Mearthane acquired Creative Urethanes in Winchester, Virginia in October 2018, and Rhode Island Water Jet LLC in May 2018; in New Jersey, USA Porter City provides precision computer numerical control components; in September 2017, Elmco Tool Inc. in Bristol, USA was acquired.

The acquisition of PMI greatly expands Mearthane's capabilities in chemical injection molding, especially for medical devices, banks and electronic products with smaller enclosures. The company said that the previous acquisition of Creative Urethanes brought Mearthane the first RIM technology.
