JEC World 2020 showcases its expanding water-based fiber sizing solution. The Hydrosize® range that will be displayed by Michael Mengen includes a variety of fiber sizing products, allowing customers to adjust the surface chemistry of the reinforcing fibers based on the chemistry of the matrix resin to optimize the interfacial adhesion between the polymer and the fiber. Improved interfacial bonding can help fiber producers and composites manufacturers produce stronger, lighter, and more durable composites.
We offer a wide selection of sizing solutions that can be optimized for a wide range of thermoplastics and thermosetting resins, including high temperature substrates. Microman's fiber infiltrants can be used in the production of chopped or continuous glass fibers, carbon fibers, natural fibers / fillers, or post-processing of nonwovens and composite prepregs.
Hydrosize® Carbon is McCormack's Hydrosize brand product line for carbon fiber applications, enabling customers to take full advantage of the unique advantages of carbon fiber. This series includes a variety of solutions that manufacturers can choose based on resin compatibility, fiber type and desired composite properties. At the same time, Michael Mennell will present a technical report during the JEC Composites Technology Conference-"Effects of Wetting Agents on the Interface and Mechanical Properties of Carbon Fiber (CF) Reinforced Polyamide (PA6,6) Composites".
