Mitsubishi Chemical plans to develop overseas high-performance film markets such as “multilayer co-extruded films for food packaging”

Recently, the production and market development of Mitsubishi Chemical's "multi-layer co-extruded film for food packaging" in Thailand is progressing smoothly, and it is decided to further expand the production of high-performance films overseas.

Due to the excellent gas barrier properties of the transparent vapor-deposited films and commercial packaging films developed by the company, Mitsubishi Chemical plans to develop the overseas high-performance film market centering on Europe and the United States. However, the company is still fiercely discussing the placement of film production sites, or it will choose between Europe, the United States and Thailand.

In addition, Mitsubishi Chemical has launched the world's largest production project for polyester (PET) films for industrial packaging in the United States. Immediately afterwards, the company also considered adding an additional production line in Germany to meet the local market demand.

It is understood that Mitsubishi Chemical has also established a production company in China. Mitsubishi Resin Optical Film (Wuxi) Co., Ltd., which has been put into production in Wuxi National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, has a total investment of 40 million U.S. dollars. It is mainly engaged in the production and processing of polarizing plate release films, one of the main components of flat panel displays. Post-production annual sales exceed 500 million yuan.

After the silence of the sudden fire in August 2018 for almost half a year, Mitsubishi resumed its Wuxi plant in June this year and continues to resupply to customers.
