Mitsui Chemicals increases productivity of HI-ZEX MILLION UHMWPE

Mitsui Chemicals increases productivity of HI-ZEX MILLION ™ UHMWPE.

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. announced at the end of August that it had expanded its HI-ZEX MILLION ™ production facility to produce high-quality ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene to meet growing automotive and industrial battery demand. These additional facilities were launched on August 7.

This action increased the company's HI-ZEX MILLION ™ 's annual production capacity by approximately 15% to 8500 tons per year.

HI-ZEX MILLION ™ developed by Mitsui Chemicals uses the company's own patented technology in the process, and the average molecular weight of the product reaches 6 million. Due to its excellent chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, impact resistance and lubricity, the material has applications in various fields such as lithium ion battery separators, industrial materials and medical equipment.

According to the company, HI-ZEX MILLION ™ can maintain a consistent shape and can provide excellent solubility characteristics, which will help simplify the customer's manufacturing process. The product is currently certified by Mitsui Chemicals' Blue Value ™.

At present, Mitsui Chemicals regards the mobile field as a key business field, positioning high-cost products as strategic goals, and will continue to actively strengthen and expand this business.
