Momentive spends USD 13 million to increase the production capacity of polyurethane additives in Italy

Momentive announced that it will invest 13 million U.S. dollars (approximately 11 million euros) to expand its existing plant in Termoli, Italy, and build an advanced manufacturing center for its Niax polyurethane additives.

The plant currently produces high-performance additives and other silicon-based products for rigid foam applications, and will undergo a comprehensive technological upgrade to expand its services to the EU sheet foam industry.

The plant will serve customers in Europe, Russia and Turkey, and is expected to be fully operational by mid-2022. This investment is part of Momentive's broader plan to optimize its global production footprint. Accordingly, the silicone plant in Antwerp, Belgium ceased operations earlier this year and long-term production was transferred to the Italian plant.

Momentive also recently established a new customer service support center in Milan. The transition from a third-party provider to the new center began in October.
