NCF (Non-Crimp Fabric) manufacturer SAERTEX helps to produce carbon fiber fan blade main beam beam cap sample

SAERTEX participated in the production of the longest carbon fiber blade main beam spar cap samples produced by vacuum infusion technology.

This girder cap is produced by a Chinese wind turbine blade manufacturer, and its offline time is April 2019. It is said that the spar cap is a key structural component in the blade and bears most of the load of the blade. The spar cap produced this time uses carbon fiber as the raw material, which greatly reduces its own weight and obtains higher rigidity, making it possible to produce blades of this length.

Designed by WINDnovation, this girder cap has a length of 87.5 meters and a width of 800 mm. The main material is UD 618gsm, a carbon fiber unidirectional non-crimp fabric optimized by Satex for vacuum infusion process, and the patented resin system 3325 A / B provided by CTP AM. Among them, UD 618gsm fabric has good permeability in the Z axis direction, so it can be spread very thickly; while the viscosity of the 3325 A / B resin system has been effectively improved and the storage time has been extended.

For the pouring, the VAP® CS / E membrane material and VAP® technology of COMPOSYST company can be used to ensure that the resin is fully vented at the same time as the resin is poured, to ensure that the resin can be evenly distributed in the entire part, and the resin content can be precisely controlled.

The entire pouring process is controlled within 2 hours, and the beam cap after demoulding has a high aesthetic appearance.
