NEG successfully developed an ultra-thin folding screen glass cover with a thickness of only 25μm

NEG Corporation has successfully developed a chemically strengthened special glass called "Dinorex UTG™". This glass can be used for Foldable Display (Foldable Display) Cover Glass with a thickness of 25μm ( 0.025mm), the bending radius can reach R1.5.

According to the official website of Nippon Electronic Glass, Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. has been committed to the production of chemically strengthened glass-Dinorex ®, which protects mobile terminals such as smartphones and tablet computers and on-board displays from damage and impact. Dinorex UTG™, an ultra-thin glass that can be used for folding displays.

Dinorex UTG™ is formed by the Over Flow method, with a smooth surface, uniform thickness and flexible characteristics.

Applying Dinorex UTG™ to the glass cover can obtain a highly reliable folding display.

For a long time, to produce thinner chemically strengthened glass, the original thick glass plate needs to be thinned (Slimming), and Dinorex UTG™ directly produces a thinner glass plate in the glass forming process, eliminating the need for thinning Treatment, to achieve the effect of reducing the use of harmful substances and cutting costs.

This product will be exhibited at 2020 SID Virtual Display Week (August 3rd to 7th).
