Nissan recalls 450,000 cars due to brake system failure

Recently, according to foreign media reports, Nissan is recalling 450,000 cars worldwide. Due to a defect in the brake system, leakage of brake fluid may cause a fire. The recalled models include Sima from 2016 to 2018, Infiniti QX60 from 2017 to 2019 (parameters | inquiry), Loulan from 2015 to 2018, and Pathfinder from 2017 to 2019, most of which are in the United States (39.4 Million vehicles) and Canada (42,800 vehicles), there is no recall of the domestic market.

Nissan said in a document submitted to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on November 8: "The brake fluid may leak from the brakes of ABS and warn the driver. If this warning is ignored, The vehicle continues to run in this situation, and the brake fluid leakage may cause a short circuit in the actuator circuit, and in rare cases, it may cause a fire. "But the document did not mention whether the defect of the braking system actually caused the Fire or injury.

This is Nissan's third recall of the same issue, and the number of affected models is increasing. Approximately 120,000 Nissan vehicles were recalled in the United States in 2016 and 215,000 were recalled in 2018. According to government documents, the 2016 Xima fire triggered the first recall. In the two previous recalls, Nissan dealers inspected the vehicles, but only replaced some pumps.

Less than two months ago, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched a preliminary investigation of 553,000 Nissan Rogues, after reports have said that their automatic emergency braking systems were activated without warning or obstacles. As early as the end of February 2018, Dongfeng Nissan recalled 689,000 vehicles in China due to brake system problems.
