OMEGA perfectly interprets Liquid metal and Zirconium Dioxide (Zr02) ceramic precision structural parts

Liquid metal alloy is an amorphous metal-with a disordered, non-crystalline atomic structure. The melting temperature is half that of traditional titanium alloys, but after cooling, its hardness is three times that of stainless steel. Its amorphous structure allows it to seamlessly bond with ceramics. Liquid metal is a bulk metallic glass alloy containing 5 elements: zirconium, titanium, copper, nickel and beryllium. With its low critical cooling rate, bulk amorphous metals can be made into structures with a thickness exceeding one-tenth of a millimeter. Zirconium is a common important component of Liquid metal alloy and Zirconium dioxide (Zr02) ceramic materials. Because of the ultra-high hardness of the two components, this perfectly smooth bezel is very resistant to scratches and corrosion.

How is the combination of ceramic and liquid metal achieved?

First, a ceramic ring-shaped watch frame is prepared, and scales and numbers are engraved on the ceramic watch frame and polished. The alloy is heated and pressed into the cavity of the ceramic to remove excess Liquid metal. Because the processing temperature of liquid metal is lower than that of ordinary metal, the ceramic will not be damaged during the processing. The numbers and scales of Liquid metal are frosted. Because the hardness of ceramics is greater than that of liquid metal alloys, the frosting of the details will not affect the ceramic bezel. The numbers and scales are finally presented in the matt ceramic bezel, eye-catching and vivid.
