In recent years, the popularity of the IoT and the high-functionality of smartphones have driven the semiconductor package and module market to grow significantly, and the demand for substrate materials has also expanded rapidly.
In this situation, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. will strengthen the substrate materials business in mainland China and Taiwan in response to increasing market demand.
It is understood that Koriyama Plant (Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture) and Taiwan Panasonic Multilayer Materials Company (PIDMTW) are Panasonic's two major production plants for semiconductor packages and module substrate materials. Starting next year, a new layout will be launched in the mainland .
Panasonic said that starting in April 2019, Matsushita Electronic Materials (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., which originally produced multilayer substrate materials, will also start production of substrate materials for semiconductor packages and modules, improving semiconductor manufacturers and packaging plants in East China. And substrate manufacturers in the transportation and service capabilities to meet their needs.
At the same time, Taiwan ’s Panasonic Multilayer Materials Company (PIDMTW) will also set up a new “Taiwan Semiconductor Materials R & D Center” to quickly respond to Taiwan ’s semiconductor manufacturing, packaging manufacturers and electronic circuit substrate manufacturing. The evaluation and technical services have contributed to assisting customer development.
