PFSA [perfluorosulfonic acid]membranes/proton exchange membranes (PEMs) are the core components of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) and play a key role in Hydrogen fuel cell performance. It not only has a blocking effect, but also has the effect of conducting protons. All proton exchange membranes mainly use fluorosulfonic acid type proton exchange membranes; nafion recast membranes; non-fluoropolymer proton exchange membranes; new composite proton exchange membranes.
So far the most commonly used proton exchange membrane (PEMFC) is still the Nafion membrane of DuPont, USA, which has the advantages of high proton conductivity and good chemical stability. PEMFC mostly uses perfluorosulfonic acid membranes such as Nafion.
