PolyPlastic, a global supplier of engineering thermoplastics, and Topas Advanced Polymers GmbH, a manufacturer of its cyclic olefin copolymers (COCs), will jointly showcase their latest material technologies and products at K 2019.

Polyplastics said they will use this opportunity to promote their position as the world's largest polyoxymethylene (POM) manufacturer at the International Plastics Exhibition. As an expert in the field of engineering plastics, the company has more than 50 years of experience in materials science and product development.

For automotive applications, Polyplastic announced that it will discuss the recently launched Duracon POM grade for the production of injection-molded automotive fuel system components. The new high-flow / high-rigid POM grade has a melt flow rate of approximately 14 making the material suitable for a range of molding conditions.

Other key highlights in POM development include new grades that combine high strength with good creep and sliding properties.

Polyplastics will also focus on the latest developments in Durafide PPS, Duranex PBT and Laperos LCP.

For electric vehicle applications, the company has developed Duranex PBT and Durafide PPS materials, which are targeted at engine peripheral components such as power control units. This material has high insulation properties and low water absorption, and can meet the harsh operating conditions of -40 ° C to 150 ° C and up to 95% relative humidity.

PolyPlastic said its Topas COCs continue to grow strongly, these COCs have unique performance characteristics and continue to find strong appeal in the healthcare and diagnostic industries. The company continues to work closely with original equipment manufacturers and processors to develop new solutions and create next-generation products. Topas COC's unique properties of purity, drug compatibility, transparency, biocompatibility, and dimensional stability make this resin useful in demanding high-performance products, including wearable drug delivery devices.
