In the online control system, as ADAS components become increasingly complex and electronic control becomes automated, actuators require a higher level of reliability. Polyplastics' DURANEX(R) PBT was selected as many electric actuator components because it can continue to work in harsh environments. The undercarriage parts are exposed to water, snow melting agent, engine oil and other substances on the road. These components also generate heat because they are close to the engine, motor, and other heat-generating components. Therefore, PBT is selected in many actuator components due to its high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and low water absorption.

DURANEX(R) PBT 330HR, 531HS and 532AR are grades with excellent durability (hydrolysis resistance) and can withstand such conditions. DURANEX 532AR has alkali resistance and is not prone to stress cracking even in contact with metal-derived rust liquid. This makes it the best choice for car bottom parts.

In communication equipment, flame-retardant PBT resins are also in demand in motor applications exposed to high voltages, batteries and charging components. DURANEX(R) PBT 750AM is UL V-0 grade product, which has high durability in the vehicle environment. Because it also has the ability to stabilize the shape of the housing and connector, in recent years, this grade has been increasingly used in auto parts that require flame retardancy.
