AKIYAMA SEIKO developed a new type of stainless steel silver bright steel bar "ASK3900" and started selling it. The original raw material used by AKIYAMA SEIKO was the high nitrogen martensitic "DSR40N" wire produced by Datong Steel. The newly developed ASK3900 has high hardness, high corrosion resistance, good machinability and cold workability, and is mainly used to make fine-diameter parts of precision mechanical parts and medical devices.
ASK3900 has the same hardness as SUS440 and the same corrosion resistance as SUS630. Moreover, the machinability and cold workability before quenching are better than SUS440.
In the process of selling austenitic stainless steel ASK8000, many customers demand stainless steel with higher hardness and better corrosion resistance. In response to customer needs, AKIYAMA SEIKO has developed a new type of stainless steel "ASK3900". The trial-produced ASK3900 is a steel rod with a diameter of 3-16mm. In the future, it will mainly produce steel bars of 20mm or less to replace SUS440C and expand sales.
