Prodrive Composites names aerospace expert to develop aerospace composites business

Dominic Cartwright joins Prodrive Composites in the UK as General Manager.

Cartwright, a former managing director of CTG (part of UTC Aerospace Systems) in Banbury, has targeted Prodrive's significant growth in aerospace, where he has a strong background. He holds a degree in aeronautical engineering and has held senior positions at Goodrich Corporation, Smiths Aerospace and TRW Aerospace Systems.

Prodrive Composites is headquartered in Milton Keynes, 40,000 square feet and has 160 employees. Due to major new contracts in the automotive and aerospace sectors, the number of employees has more than doubled in the past 12 months. Earlier this year, the company won the largest aviation contract ever and is currently making first-class cabins for commercial airliners. It also makes component satellites and drones, and is about to begin researching Europe's major space programs.

"There is huge potential to grow this business," Cartwright said. "The parts we do for companies like McLaren, Jaguar and Bentley are of the highest quality and there is a great opportunity to bring these skills to more Aviation industry customers.
