Renishaw has partnered with the Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center (SAMIC) to build a Joint Innovation Lab. Aim to jointly promote technological innovation in additive manufacturing

Recently, Renishaw cooperated with Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Manufacturing Innovation Center (SAMIC) to jointly build a "Joint Innovation Lab". It aims to jointly promote innovation in additive manufacturing technology and promote the transformation of advanced manufacturing capabilities.

The Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Manufacturing Innovation Center is under the guidance of the Shanghai Economic and Information Commission, and is jointly established by Shanghai's additive manufacturing industry organizations, research institutions and competitive technology companies. Since the official construction of the Innovation Center on May 28 this year, after just four months, the Engineering Technology Sub-center, Application Display Sub-center, Inspection and Testing Sub-center, High-skilled Talent Training and Employment Training Sub-center have been completed.

Renishaw's Additive Manufacturing Solution Center has been committed to providing enterprises with economical access to additive manufacturing machines, facilities and expertise, thereby lowering the threshold for enterprises to apply additive manufacturing technology. The Solution Center is equipped with the latest additive manufacturing machines and experienced engineers to provide enterprises with a confidential development environment, which not only facilitates them to explore the various advantages that additive manufacturing can bring to their products, but also helps them quickly enhance their Recognition and confidence of additive manufacturing as a production technology.

Renishaw AM 400 Flexible Metal Additive Manufacturing System is the newly developed additive manufacturing system based on the AM250 platform with the latest system upgrade features, equipped with a larger SafeChange ™ filter element, improved control software and improved airflow And window protection system, and offers a new 400 W optical system with a laser beam diameter reduced to 70 microns.

Although additive manufacturing can produce complex geometries in a single process step, producing functional products generally requires a certain degree of post-processing. Renishaw's Productive Process Pyramid ™ Provides a complete set of integrated manufacturing solutions including on-line secondary inspection and finished product verification, increasing automated operations and reducing human intervention. Comprehensive optimization of manufacturing performance with expert-level process control technology.

Innovative process control products introduced in the Joint Innovation Lab include: Equator ™ 300 comparator, Primo ™ online inspection and tool compensation system, and REVO® multi-sensor five-axis measurement system. The 3D printed workpiece is processed twice by the machine tool. Renishaw's in-machine (on-line inspection and tool compensation system) and off-machine (comparator) measurement solutions can be easily integrated into automatic production lines and production cells to achieve Comprehensive automation.

By using the Equator comparison instrument measurement data to directly update the offset on the machine tool controller, and at the same time update the tool compensation value of the machine tool, to achieve process control with closed-loop feedback. The final product is established by Renishaw's REVO® five-axis measurement system to establish a fast and traceable workpiece processing qualification report to provide customers with complete quality assurance. This cooperation combines additive manufacturing and subtractive manufacturing, and combines process control and quality control to present a complete and efficient production solution to customers.

On October 26, the former Minister of National Aerospace Industry, Minister Lin Zongtang, and a group of five people visited the Innovation Center. As the representative of the Fifth National People's Congress, Mr. Lin is deeply concerned about the 3D printing business, focusing on field inspections of the Engineering Technology Sub-center and Application Exhibition Center. Renishaw's engineers accompanied the lecture and simulated a demonstration of an automated production cell dominated by additive manufacturing technology.

Renishaw's vision is to make additive manufacturing a mainstream manufacturing technology that is widely used in large-scale production of high-performance components in aerospace, medical, automotive, oil and gas, mold, and consumer goods. Renishaw has set up a solution center in three branches in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou to help customers understand the automated production mode of additive manufacturing technology and process control technology as a whole, and help customers optimize the design and predict the costs with predictable and controlled costs. The confidence of the additive manufacturing process provides a technical basis for investment decisions. This joint construction of the "Joint Innovation Lab" project has taken a key step towards achieving the vision.
