On July 4, 2019, Renishaw, a British metal additive manufacturing expert, has invested $ 5 million in a new plant in Nuevo León, Mexico to support its growing customer base. The new 3,200-square-meter site will provide technical support and training in metrology, healthcare, motion control and additive manufacturing technologies.
Fátima Oyervides, Renishaw's Mexico Market Manager, said: "Manufacturing is one of the largest contributors to the Mexican economy. We initially opened this subsidiary in 2012 with 5 employees. Now, to keep up with the country's industry growth, Especially in the automotive and aerospace markets, we have grown into a team of 40 people. "

The new plant has multiple meeting rooms, training rooms, development laboratories and demonstration areas to showcase the latest measuring equipment such as non-contact tool measurement solutions, NC4 + Blue systems and process control applications, including advanced scanning, calibration and measurement systems . Oyervides added:
"As we continue to expand, we will be able to provide more support to local industries. Our factories not only provide local support to our partners by providing technical assistance and training; we are here to educate and support the development of smart manufacturing in Mexico. "
This new site is one of Renishaw's many subsidiaries in 36 countries, including the company's Innovation Centre in Gloucestershire, UK.
Renishaw in Europe
Renishaw has been providing a new base for Europe's growing additive manufacturing industry. Earlier this year, the company opened two new additive manufacturing solutions centers, one in Barcelona, Spain, and the other in Turin, Italy, to provide local companies with Renishaw equipment and expertise to create business A secure development environment.
