This piston was developed by Kolbenschmidt, a subsidiary of Rheinmetall Automotive, and will be produced by Huayu Colbenschmidt Piston Co., Ltd. in 2022. The order cycle will last until 2028.
The piston, developed for a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, will be used in all new four-cylinder engines in China for the host customer. Mainframe customers will use these piston products at their three Chinese engine plants in accordance with the principle of "providing local services for the local market." As a result, customers can reduce supply chain time.
