Rheinmetall will debut at the 2019 IAA Frankfurt Auto Show

The 2019 Frankfurt Auto Show IAA will be held in Frankfurt, Germany from September 12th to 22nd. Rheinmetall will be located in Hall D20 in Hall 8 and will display its Köppenschmidt and Pilberg brands. The booth area will exceed 400 square meters. The theme of this exhibition is E3, which stands for Emission, Efficiency and E-Mobility.

Rheinmetall will showcase its highly efficient and low emission internal combustion engine, electric drive and hybrid solutions. In addition, parts other than powertrain will also debut at this exhibition. Combining the mobility needs of modern cities and lifestyles, the Amprio brand 48-volt belt-assisted bike addresses first / last mile travel. This new powertrain concept bike features controls and a rechargeable battery.

In the field of electric vehicles, Rheinmetall will exhibit components for power batteries and drive motors, as well as 48-volt motors for small commercial vehicles and other vehicles, as well as thermal management systems and fuel cell power systems for electric vehicles.

For modern engines that have realized or partially realized electrification, the electrification of auxiliary equipment is a development trend. As a result, the Mechatronics division will showcase Pilberg's innovations in the areas of electronic cooling water pumps, oil pumps and vacuum pumps. Series pumps have a wider range of applications: they can be used for cooling of traditional internal combustion engines, or they can be assembled in fuel cell models after revision. In addition, exhibits include innovative environmentally friendly technology pumps and their variants combined with control valves to reduce fuel vapor emissions.

The hardware department will showcase the "ultra-low friction" concept of Coppenschmidt for modern lightweight pistons. Cobenschmidt mass-produces the recently developed Liteks-5 lightweight pistons for gasoline engines. This high-performance engine can also be equipped with piston ring brackets and cooling channels. Technical innovation covers new polymer bearing materials to cope with multiple friction situations; it also includes increasing the use of low-viscosity oils, similar to new maintenance-free sliding bearings, which significantly reduce the adhesion of impurities and the generation of noise.
