Rogers Corporation has introduced ARLON® flame-retardant self-melting silicone tapes to meet the needs of insulation in demanding applications. This new tape adopts a new formula, the compound has a flame retardant rating of UL-V0, and can be permanently and irreversibly bonded to form a flexible weather barrier that resists wind and rain. The applicable temperature range is extremely wide.
ARLON flame retardant self-melting silicone tape is made of specially formulated silicone rubber, suitable for various extreme environments, and can maintain excellent electrical insulation and stability in the environment of -54 ° C to + 204 ° C . The product is adhesive-free and chemically adheres to itself within 24 hours at room temperature, enabling residue-free installation and removal of a variety of mechanical and electrical applications. Unlike traditional adhesive-based adhesive tapes, this product has excellent dielectric strength. At 180 ° C, its dielectric strength is at least 300VPM, and it is also resistant to humidity, oxidation, ozone, and corona. Characteristics to ensure continuous and efficient insulation value, wrapped around complex shapes can be tightly closed, uniform and smooth, and has the performance of damping and absorbing mechanical shock.
Application areas of the new flame-retardant self-melting silicone tape include mechanical outer packaging, such as wire winding and wire binding, emergency pipe and hose repair, air duct sealing, coolant pipe repair, and roller traction and protection. Electrical applications include insulation of wire and cable connections and terminals, insulation of motor coils, insulation and sealing of electrical connections, and weatherproofing. ARLON flame-retardant self-melting silicone tape has a rectangular cross section and is available in four thicknesses (from 0.25 mm to 1.02 mm) in brown and black. This product meets the requirements of FAR 25.853 and UL-recognized A-A-59163A for combustion and smoke, and meets Reach and RoHS standards.
