Russian carbon fiber manufacturer Umatex Rosatom signs strategic agreement with Italian motorcycle racing team Kawasaki Puccetti

As a subsidiary of Russia's state-owned company Rosatom Atomic Energy, which produces composite materials, Umatex Rosatom is Russia's largest and top ten global manufacturer of carbon fiber of various specifications. Umatex Rosatom cooperated with an Italian motorcycle racing team, the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing Team, to jointly promote the application of carbon fiber in motorsports. A corresponding agreement was signed in Moscow on December 13, 2018.

Alexander Tyunin, CEO of Umatex, said: "The cooperation with the Kawasaki Puccetti racing team will promote the promotion of Umatex products among international motorcycle and auto parts manufacturers and will strengthen Umatex's brand position in the international market."

According to Umatex Rosatom, the annual global carbon fiber consumption of motorcycle component manufacturers is about 600 tons, and carbon fiber consumption comes in the form of fabrics and prepregs. Andrey Ignatiev, Umatex Rosatom's sales director, said: "Our goal is to account for 5% of the international market for modified motorcycle parts. This will increase our export of carbon fiber fabrics and prepregs by 20%."
