At the German K show in 2019, the global petrochemical industry leader Shakey Industries introduced Xenoy HTX resin, a polyester-based high-temperature technology that can be used to produce lightweight, impact-resistant and high-performance automotive structures.

According to the company, automotive manufacturers now need new polymer solutions to produce structural components that can withstand high temperatures, and Xenoy HTX is very useful. Its related applications include body-in-white components, structural reinforcement components, and electric vehicles (EV) Battery protection system.

Xenoy HTX resins are available in unfilled and filled glass grades, which significantly reduce weight compared to steel and aluminum. Sage Industries' new thermoplastic materials also provide a material that can completely replace polyamide 6.6 (PA66) compounds and alloys. Such materials have recently experienced frequent supply shortages and price fluctuations.
