Vios, a UV-based subsidiary of Seoul Semiconductor, has been developing new UV-LED components based on the WICOP chip-scale package design.
Traditional UV LEDs have a higher cost due to loading additional components, and their performance is reduced due to the overload heat emitted by each component. UV WICO is only a single chip, which requires no additional components, can reduce costs, and efficiently dissipate heat, and is conducive to changing the design according to different applications and user needs.
Vioss Seoul has applied UV WICOP technology to various fields such as water quality and air purification, surface sterilization, and has performed performance tests. The test results show that the new UV WICOP performance is improved by more than 600% and the lighting time is 45,000 hours compared to high-power traditional packaged LEDs with a lifetime of 2000-7000 hours. The price of this product is 80% lower than competitors' equivalent performance products.
