SGL to showcase smart solutions and materials for fiber composites at CCE

SGL Carbon will be presenting smart solutions and materials for fiber composites for the mobile and industrial applications market at the China International Composites Industry Technology Exhibition (CCE) in Shanghai. Under the concept of "optimized weight and performance", the company will demonstrate its diverse product portfolio across the entire value chain from carbon fiber and textile semi-finished products to finished components made of carbon fiber and glass fiber reinforced plastics.

SGL Carbon will be exhibiting leaf springs made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic at booth A221 in Hall 1 for use in automobiles such as the rear axles of various models of vehicle manufacturer Volvo. The innovative axle concept using glass fiber leaf springs is one of SGL's largest series of projects in lightweight construction, highlighting the great potential of fiber composite structures.

Another exhibit will be the rear spoiler bracket of a sports car manufacturer. SGL has many years of experience and expertise in this important area of carbon components.

In addition, SGL will exhibit its diverse fiber composite products at the show. These include SIGRAFIL carbon fiber and textile semi-finished products, as well as REFRASIL silicon-based materials, which have been developed for high-temperature applications in the aerospace industry.

"Fiber-reinforced composites are used in many growth industries. In addition to the automotive and aerospace industries, mechanical engineering, ships and infrastructure, and Industrial applications in sports and leisure are driving the development of fiber-reinforced composites. Especially in China, the demand for composites has been increasing in recent years-which is why CCE is very important to us. "
