The 48K large tow carbon fiber precursor independently developed by SHSH Carbon Fiber Technology Group passed carbonization and continued mass production. The carbonization effect exceeded expectations, and all carbon fiber indicators exceeded the T300 level after testing. SHSH truly produced the first batch of 48K large tow carbon fiber in the industrial sense.

Carbon fiber, which is only one-fourth the density of steel and more than four times stronger than steel, is an indispensable reinforcement for advanced composite materials. Its importance to advanced manufacturing is self-evident. However, for a long time, China has not been able to realize the industrial production of carbon fiber. In July 2018, the polymerization and spinning technology of 48K carbon fiber precursors was successfully developed, and a 1,000-tonne polyacrylonitrile-based 48K carbon fiber precursor technology package was formed, and 48K carbon fiber precursors were produced in batches.

The 48K raw silk is subjected to oxidation and carbonization tests on the original 2,000-ton / year carbonization production line to conduct joint research on upstream and downstream. On August 17, 100 bundles of 48K carbon fiber precursors were successfully carbonized. After testing, 48K carbon fiber tensile strength, tensile modulus, interlaminar shear strength and other technical indicators have exceeded the T300 level.

Large tow carbon fiber is one of the new materials necessary for the development of modern equipment manufacturing. It is mainly used in industrial-grade precision products and other fields. It is expected that the demand growth rate will exceed 16% per year in the next few years. By 2020, global demand is expected to reach 15 More than 10,000 tons, China will reach more than 77,000 tons.
