Sidel complemented its 2018 acquisition of PET engineering with the acquisition of French PET mold maker and designer Cognac Moules Embulages Plastic (COMEP).
COMEP was founded in 1998 and produces more than 4,000 molds each year and employs about 60 people. The company claims to be a pioneer in low blow pressure technology.
Sidel's Executive Vice President of Services Pavel Shevchuk said, "With this move, we will continue our journey that began in October 2018. We have enriched Sidel with the acquisition of PET Engineering, which provides a brand to the beverage industry Strategic and design consulting, packaging design and production line conversion services and molds. Today, with the acquisition of COMEP, we have further expanded our capabilities and expanded our mold and tool portfolio to provide our customers with more complete packaging solutions . "
COMEP will represent an independent mold market channel. This means that COMEP and Sidel will adopt different business approaches while sharing best practices and increasing efficiency where possible.
