On December 21, Signify and Honeywell, a US manufacturer of intelligent building control technology, announced a strategic alliance to jointly develop integrated intelligent lighting solutions in the field of commercial buildings.
According to the cooperation agreement, Honeywell's Building Management Systems and its Forge enterprise performance management platform will integrate Signify's intelligent interconnected lighting system and software, as well as UVC disinfection lighting fixtures. In addition, Signify will also provide Honeywell with human-related lighting products such as NatureConnect.
It is reported that the use of Signify’s intelligent interconnected LED lighting system Interact Office can save up to 70% of the energy used to light up and install building controllers and sensors. For example, it can save Honeywell 30% of facility energy costs.
Honeywell and Signify`s integrated solutions can be applied to commercial buildings, airports, hotels, hospitals, classrooms, retail stores, and stadiums. At this stage, Honeywell is installing integrated solutions for some of its global offices, including Signify`s UVC air disinfection lamps.
It is also worth noting that Signify and Honeywell will provide comprehensive solutions for building management and lighting systems for OPTIMAX Eye Specialists in Malaysia to help them improve air quality and surface disinfection.
Signify`s UVC lighting solution is used on the lamps, trolleys and fan coils controlled by Honeywell technology on the top of the clinic space, which can sterilize the air and surfaces in the room. At the same time, Honeywell's Healthy Buildings control panel can control and monitor the lighting fixtures in the clinic.
In general, the combination of building control technology with intelligent LED lighting systems, human factor lighting and UVC killing lighting is conducive to saving energy for commercial buildings, improving human comfort and health, and improving work efficiency.
