SKF recently signed a joint venture agreement with China's leading silicon nitride ceramic technology provider ZCDH to deepen cooperation in the field of hybrid ceramic ball bearings.
ZCDH is a leading developer and manufacturer of silicon nitride materials and silicon nitride ceramic balls in the industry. This cooperation is of strategic significance, because ceramic bearings are an emerging technology that SKF gives priority to in its strategy.
SKF will hold a 30% stake in the joint venture company, which will produce nitride ceramic rolling components. Through this cooperation, SKF and ZCDH will be able to provide customers in a wide range of industries, including electric vehicles (ev) and precision machine tools, with high-quality hybrid ceramic ball bearing products and solutions. Electric vehicles and high-speed machinery are two high growth areas identified in the group's strategic framework.
