Solvay teamed up with Brazilian fitness apparel brand Alto Giro to develop a range of high-tech clothing that combines the functionality of smart polyamide yarns with a technology that can charge a mobile phone while exercising

Solvay has partnered with Brazilian fitness apparel brand Alto Giro to develop a range of high-tech clothing that combines the functionality of smart polyamide yarns with a technology that can charge a mobile phone while exercising.

The project first showcased the prototype at the Brazilian Fashion Festival and became the capsule collection displayed during the large Brazilian fashion event Casa de Criadores.

This collaboration has led to the creation of a series of sportswear that can hold the wearer's cell phone and charge it by induction.

What's more, the polyamide on the outside of the pocket is touch-sensitive, allowing users to answer calls and use other features without having to remove the phone from the pocket and interrupt the charging process.

The suit is made of Solvay's smart yarns Amni Soul Eco and Emana polyamide.

Mayra Montel, Solvay's fiber marketing and business development unit, said: "The biggest insight into the project is the combination of Alto Giro's design, Solvay's special polyamide and Ale Farah's mobile charging technology. Consumers will get a double in sportswear Hi-tech experience. "
