The domestically-made large civil aircraft C919 uses China-made aircraft cotton-sound insulation and heat insulation glass fiber cotton felt.

 

In June 2017, CQZS received a procurement contract from COMAC.

 

Recently, Hay Think’s team saw a sample of aircraft cotton used in the cabin of a large Chinese domestic aircraft C919-sound insulation and heat insulation glass fiber cotton felt in the exhibit hall of CQZS.

 

At present, CQZS is the only company in China and the third company in the world that can mass-produce this product.

 

Commercially produced aircraft cotton-sound-insulating and heat-insulating glass fiber cotton felt, with high performance focusing on water-proof, moisture-proof, heat-insulation, sound insulation and lightweight required for airworthiness.

 

To this end, scientific researchers must tackle key problems based on these performance requirements, accurately match glass fibers with a diameter of less than 4 microns and related accessories, and use high-tech means to “weave” into the required material form.

 

In order to ensure the independent supply of aircraft cotton-sound insulation and heat-insulating glass fiber felt for domestic large aircraft, and firmly grasp the core key technology in its own hands, CQZS has been preparing for research and development and formulating technical lines for several years.

 

The project has obtained 42 authorized invention patents

 

After several years of intense research, ultra-fine, lightweight, flexible, heat and sound insulation aircraft cotton finally came out of the laboratory and realized commercial production.

 

“Designed specifically to save space and weight.” CQZS CTO Dr. Yang told reporters that the product is processed through a special process and then collected by negative pressure. After being treated with a unique and advanced process, the effects of sound insulation, heat insulation and drainage are very outstanding. In addition to being used in aerospace, it can also be used in high-speed rail, ships and other fields.

 

After ten years of hard work, the entire project has also made many breakthroughs: the development of ultra-fine glass fiber cotton and UPLA ultra-efficient glass fiber filter paper with completely independent intellectual property rights composition; design and development of vacuum insulation board core material, surface density The uniformity and thermal conductivity index have reached the international advanced level.

 

The scientific research project has obtained 42 authorized invention patents and 10 utility model patents.

 

Over the years, CQZS has undertaken 8 national-level scientific research projects. The company has achieved an average growth rate of over 50% in revenue and profit for 6 consecutive years. In 2021, the operating income will exceed 5 billion yuan.
