South Korea's SK Materials said that it has started mass production of hydrogen fluoride gas used in semiconductor production processes and has reached a certain level of high purity, which will be adopted by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. SK Materials established a material development center in November 2019 after Japan strengthened its export management to South Korea. While making full use of the fund funds established by SK Hynix, it has been advancing the research and development of mass production of hydrogen fluoride. At present, 15 tons of production equipment has been put into operation throughout the year, and it is planned to increase the localization rate of hydrogen fluoride used for semiconductor production in Korea to 70% by 2023.
