Solvay, a specialty polymer supplier, revealed that it will increase production of high-performance polysulfones by 35% over the next five years. The company plans to invest in plants in the United States and Asia. These include Udel PSU, PPSU, and PESU, and the company has taken similar steps in the past decade to increase the production capacity of these polymers to over 12,000 tons.
Solvay produces more than 1,500 products, 35 brands of high-performance specialty polymers, including fluoropolymers, fluororubbers, fluorinated liquids, polysulfones, aromatic ultra-high performance polymers, high barrier polymers and Cross-linking high-performance compounds. These polymer materials are mainly used in aerospace, new energy, automotive, medical, oil, natural gas, packaging and pipeline fields.
