The Swedish Steel Group (SSAB), the global high-strength steel manufacturer to which Docol® belongs, is discussing with Tata Steel Europe about the intentional acquisition of the IJmuiden steel plant and related downstream assets.
SSAB participated in several different discussions regarding the integration of the European steel industry. Discussions with Tata Steel are still ongoing, but no decision has yet been reached. It is impossible to determine whether any transactions can be realized or the terms of any such potential transactions. We will make further announcements in due course.
Tata Steel`s IJmuiden plant is located on the North Sea coast of the Netherlands. Through its oxygen-blowing steelmaking, thin strip caster, strip hot rolling mill, annealing line, cold rolling mill and metal/organic coating production line, it produces organic/ Metal coated steel strip products.
Tata Steel Europe Co., Ltd., formerly known as Corus Group plc, is a steelmaking company headquartered in London, UK, with operations mainly in the UK and the Netherlands. In 1999, Koninklijke Hoogovens and British Steel Corporation merged to form Corus Group. In 2007, Corus Group was acquired by India's Tata. In September 2010, it was renamed Tata Steel Europe (Tata Steel EuroPE).
