Technical Fibre Products, a British advanced nonwoven fabric manufacturer, launches new high-temperature resistant polyamide / basalt fiber yarn

On February 21, the British advanced non-woven fabric manufacturer Technical Fibre Products (hereinafter referred to as TFP) announced the launch of a new series of high temperature resistant fiber yarn products for the composite material industry.

The products launched this time include lightweight polyamide fiber yarn and basalt fiber yarn, which is an extension product developed by TFP based on the existing Optiveil series products, which is specially developed for the high-temperature application market.

Among them, polyamide fiber yarn is the most thermally stable polymer fiber yarn product developed by TFP so far, with a service temperature of up to 260 degrees Celsius, much higher than other polymer products including polyester and PPS. After processing, it can be used as a high-performance thermal insulation material in the aerospace market and undertake space exploration tasks for the planets such as the sun and Mercury.

The basalt fiber yarn can be used as a substitute for TFP's existing standard E & ECR grade glass fiber yarn, and the thermal stability is better. It can withstand temperatures of up to 850 degrees Celsius when exposed to open flames, and is resistant to acids and alkalis, making it an ideal material in high temperature and corrosive environments.

In addition to excellent thermal stability, the above two new products also have stable quality comparable to existing Optiveil and Optimat series products (including carbon fiber yarn, glass fiber yarn, aramid fiber yarn, thermoplastic recycled carbon fiber nonwoven fabric, etc.) And surface quality, help to promote the flow of resin in the production process of composite materials, reduce the difficulty of surface treatment, and realize the design function that the product should have.
