Technology provider Kellogg Brown Road (KBR) licenses Pingmei Shenma Group’s polycarbonate technology

Recently, Kellogg Brown Road (KBR), a leading global technology provider of cross-asset projects and life cycle professional services, has signed a chartered engineering and supply agreement with China Pingmei Shenma Group (PMSM). There is an equipment contract to build two new multi-carbon materials. The project will use PCMAX technology to be carried out in Pingdingshan, Kaifeng, Henan, China.

The two plants currently produce 100,000 tons per year. Under the terms of the contract, KBR's proprietary phosgene-based polycarbonate technology PCMAX will be used in both plants. Pingmei Shenma plans to expand its total production capacity to 800,000 tons per year through KBR's proprietary technology, which will produce a large number of high-quality polycarbonate products while attracting very low-level capital investment.

KBR provides licensed design and polycarbonate synthesis complex plants worldwide, as well as phenolic technologies, including phenol / acetone and bisphenol (BPA). KBR's integrated phenolic resin has great advantages in terms of raw materials, OPEX and maintenance costs, so KBR uses PCMAX technology to establish two new polycarbonate plants in China.

China Pingmei Shenma Group is a state-owned large-scale enterprise group mainly engaged in energy and chemical industry. Its industry spreads across 9 provinces and autonomous regions, and its products are exported to more than 30 countries. The three listed companies are Coal Co., Ltd., Shenma Co., Ltd. and Xinda New Materials. The production capacity of nylon 66 salt and engineering plastics ranks first in Asia, and the production capacity of industrial silk and cord fabrics ranks first in the world.

Yang Jianguo, general manager of Pingmei Shenma said, "KBR is the world's leading technology licensor. Polycarbonate engineering using KBR's advanced PCMAX technology is the largest technology introduction project in recent years. This project reflects China's Demand, and PMSM's corporate vision for industrial transformation and upgrading. "

KBR Technology President John Derby Hill commented, "KBR is pleased to be part of this major investment project. The growing demand for polycarbonate products in China provides a strong opportunity for PMSM. KBR ’s superior PCMAX technology will enable PMSM becomes a market leader in the polycarbonate industry.
