Teijin establishes the European Automobile Center to create a European cooperation platform for composite materials within the Group

On January 28th, Teijin Group announced that it will establish Teijin Europe Automotive Center in February as a new technical center for the Group's automotive composites business, using its own multi-material solutions to provide concepts, design, Prototype design, testing and evaluation, technology development and marketing services.

The center will be built as a collaboration platform among the automotive composite material business bases of Teijin Group in Europe and promote the coordinated development of each business base. From a longer-term perspective, the center will also assume the responsibility of market development, seek more new technology R & D and corporate mergers and acquisitions opportunities, promote the Group's cooperation with major European OEMs, and respond to the market's weight loss for new-generation vehicle materials , Increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve design freedom.

Teijin Group also announced that it will set up similar technology research and development institutions in the United States and China in the future to meet the needs of the local market and further consolidate the Group's global supplier market positioning.

According to its own forecast, by 2030, the sales of the Teijin Group's automotive composites business will reach 2 billion US dollars.

In recent years, the development model of the automotive industry has continued to develop in the direction of interconnection, sharing, electronicization, and automation. The demand for lightweight materials has gradually expanded, and the Teijin Group has also actively participated. In the United States, Teijin acquired CSP in 2017 and became one of the first-tier automotive suppliers; in Europe, Teijin acquired Portuguese automotive composite material suppliers Inapal Plásticos SA of Portugal and Czech Benet Automotive sro, and will pass CSP France The subsidiary builds a new SMC molding compound factory.
