01. Development background
In recent years, due to the increase of dual-employees and single-living households, the desire to shorten the time of housework such as laundry has become stronger. Therefore, consumers' demand for easy-to-care clothing such as quick-drying after laundry has also increased.
At the same time, clothing with a natural look and feel has become popular in recent years, and consumer demand for such clothing has also increased.
Based on the above background, Teijin Frontier relies on its unique technology to successfully develop a brand-new creative super absorbent and quick-drying fabric by reproducing the diatomite concavo-convex structure with high water absorption and diffusibility and the special structure with micro-porous surface.
02. About new fabrics
1. Technical summary:
Reproduce the structure of diatomaceous earth
The composite yarn with increased bulkiness after processing is used as warp yarn, and the yarn with elasticity after processing is used as weft yarn, thereby designing a special fabric structure to reproduce the fine uneven layer structure on the surface of the fabric.
The woven structure of the convex part is formed by the hetero-shrinkage composite yarn, which creates voids between the yarns and reproduces the microporous structure of the diatomaceous earth surface.
Reproduce the structure of natural fiber style
By letting the composite yarn have poor weave and shrinkage, an irregular fiber structure is formed, and the natural fabric style of the surface of the fabric is reproduced.

Ordinary polyester fabric is a smooth fabric structure composed of a flat fiber structure. On the contrary, the new fabric developed this time is a fine uneven layer structure composed of an irregular fiber structure.

Compared with ordinary polyester fabrics, the drying time can be shortened by about 40%.
Laundry durability
The special structure achieves water absorption and quick-drying, so it has laundry durability. It can maintain sweat absorption and quick-drying performance even after repeated washing 50 times.
Natural style and flexibility
The irregular fiber structure of the different shrinkage composite yarn shows a natural style like natural fiber, and the moderate stretchability of the stretch yarn achieves a soft feel. At the same time, it also has the same wrinkle resistance characteristics as ordinary polyester.
03. Future development
Starting from the spring and summer of 2021, the new fabrics will be promoted mainly for apparel fabrics. It is planned to reach a sales target of 50,000 meters in 2020 and 500,000 meters in 2022.
