Teijin Twaron Aramid Fiber Five-Year Production Expansion Plan Enters Second Phase

Teijin Aramid, the maker of Twaron aramid fiber, announced that it will begin the second phase of its expansion plan. As early as 2017, in order to increase production capacity by 25% within 5 years and meet the growing market demand, Teijin Aramid has begun to strictly carry out expansion work according to plan.

The engineers have completed the first phase of the project through technical research. At present, the related work of Teijin Aramid has also been transferred to the key part of the project investment. As a key enabler of innovation in multiple markets, from air cargo containers to insulated clothing, Teijin Aramid aims to further consolidate its position as a market leader and eventually achieve capacity growth plans by 2022.

Capacity growth can be seen as a great opportunity to invest in new technologies for energy conservation and emission reduction. As the vanguard of the industry's development, Teijin Aramid understands its important role and has always been committed to finding a more sustainable way of working. Twaron series products have strong market demand due to their light weight, durability, high strength and other performance characteristics. The various reasons mentioned above have prompted Teijin Aramid to provide customers with more solutions and make downstream business more sustainable.

The expansion will be carried out at two plants in Delfzijl and Emmen in the Netherlands. The Delzijl plant is mainly responsible for the production of monomers and polymers, and the Emmen plant is responsible for spinning. At the same time, the expansion of production capacity will also bring dozens of new jobs to the local area.
