TenCate Advanced Composites collaborates with Aston Martin on Valkyrie supercar project to provide composite parts

TenCate Advanced Composites (TenCate Advanced Composites) and Aston Martin announced that the two parties will cooperate Aston Martin Valkyrie super running project.

TenCate is a composite technology partner of the Aston Martin Valkyrie project. The company provides advanced composite materials for various end-use applications for vehicles, including structural parts, trim parts, and high-temperature parts. This technical cooperation is the first composite project between TenCate and Aston Martin.

TenCate's expert service team worked closely with Aston Martin to ensure that the project provided the optimal composite solution and developed custom materials to meet the requirements of each application. Aston Martin Valkyrie uses lightweight carbon fiber structural parts with super aerodynamic performance to provide excellent downforce for this model.

To support the project, TenCate will provide a full set of material solutions, supply surface films, film adhesives, honeycomb cores, and continue to use TenCate AmberTool composite tool prepregs. The materials will be provided by TenCate's European Centre of Excellence in Langley Mill, UK.

In addition to the original Valkyrie models, Aston Martin introduced the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro model earlier this year, which is a track version of the supercar. The latter has built a total of 25 Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro. It is expected that Shipped in 2020, all are currently sold.

TenCate Advanced Composites produced advanced composites in Nijverdal, the Netherlands in 1972. The company is engaged in the research and development and supply of composite materials and carbon fiber materials. Its business is involved in aerospace, space / satellite, high-performance automotive materials, engineering design and other markets.

In July 2018, Toray acquired TenCate composites.
