Basalt fibers are widely used in the manufacturing fields of friction materials, thermal insulation materials, filter materials, shipbuilding materials, military and aerospace materials, cement-based composite materials, special composite materials, 3D printing materials, etc.
Basalt fiber is a natural fire-resistant material that not only withstands high temperatures of nearly a thousand degrees Celsius, but also can withstand four times the tensile strength of steel bars. It also has the characteristics of heat insulation, insulation, and radiation protection.
Aramid is currently the mainstream firefighting clothing fabric on the market, with a heat resistance limit of 300 degrees Celsius, while basalt fiber can reach a heat resistance limit of 1000 degrees Celsius and can be used for a long time at 600 degrees Celsius. It can withstand more than 10000 twists and turns, and its unit price is only one-third of Aramid.
Basalt fiber also has properties of low temperature resistance and radiation resistance, making it a space product for use in outer space.
