The Boston Fire Department plans to pilot the C-THRU helmet solution from AR helmet manufacturer Qwake Technologies

On December 3, it was reported that Qwake Technologies, an AR helmet manufacturer focused on the firefighting field, announced that it has received a $1.4 million order from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Qwake plans to use the funds to accelerate the commercialization of the C-THRU AR visual communication platform. In the future, it is planned to combine AR helmets with other fields such as military or remote communication.

Qwake's C-THRU AR visual communication platform includes an AR helmet equipped with a head-up display, as well as mobile control applications and video software, AR navigation tools, etc., aiming to improve the environmental protection of firefighters and first responders through computer vision and AR. Perception. The characteristic of C-THRU is that it supports AR remote communication, cloud recording, AR navigation, object contour recognition, and distance recognition. For the helmet part, the weight of C-THRU is about two iPhones, no handle is required, and it has the functions of flashlight and radio communication.

Marty McCormack, head of the training department of the Boston Fire Department, said: Recently, the C-THRU helmet program was commercially trial-operated in the Boston Fire Department. It can increase the speed of firefighters' work, and at the same time share the images in front of the firefighters, greatly improving efficiency and communication.

Currently, this helmet has opened an appointment on the official website, and it is expected to be officially launched in 12 months.
