Statistics show that at present, the mass production of lithium iron phosphate batteries of Guoxuan Hi-Tech has exceeded 190Wh / kg in single cell energy and 140Wh / kg in system energy density. If the monomer energy density reaches 200Wh / kg, the system energy density will exceed 150Wh / kg.

This level is very close to the current mainstream models equipped with ternary batteries. At present, most of the energy density of the ternary batteries supported by the Ningde era is concentrated at 160Wh / kg, and the highest is 180Wh / kg. Judging from the installed capacity of power batteries, BYD and Guoxuan Hi-Tech are the second and third largest power battery manufacturers in China after the Ningde era.

Among the three major power battery giants, Ningde Times and BYD are ternary and lithium iron phosphate, but only Guoxuan Hi-Tech is based on lithium iron phosphate batteries. In 2019, Ningde Times ternary battery installed 21619MWh, the domestic market share was 55.6%, and lithium iron phosphate battery installed 11247MWh, the market share was 56.0%. Regardless of ternary or lithium iron phosphate, Ningde market is a well-deserved leader in the domestic market.

The installed capacity of BYD's ternary batteries in 2019 is 7983MWh, with a market share of 20.5%, and the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries is 2781MWh, with a market share of 13.8%. It can be seen that the old iron lithium battery leader BYD has basically turned to ternary batteries.

Guoxuan Hi-Tech, which ranks third in the domestic power battery field, is more focused on lithium iron phosphate batteries. In 2019, the ternary installed capacity is 190MWh, with a market share of 0.5%, and the lithium iron battery installed capacity is 3218MWh, with a market share of 15.1%.

According to the Pacific Securities Research Report, the compound growth rate of the installed capacity of ternary batteries reached 141% from 2014 to 2018, and the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate fell into the growth bottleneck. From 2016 to 2018, the installed capacity basically remained at the level of 20GWh.

Although ternary batteries are currently the mainstream, no one has stopped the pace of accumulating lithium iron phosphate battery technology. Ningde Times took the lead in adopting CTP technology for module-less battery packs, and its CTP battery pack volume utilization rate increased by 15% -20%; while BYD launched the "blade battery", which optimizes the battery pack structure to improve the system energy density.

Generally speaking, the process of assembling lithium battery cells into groups is called PACK, which can be a single battery, or a series-parallel battery module. The technology of Ningde era and BYD is essentially to increase the energy density through "no module".

From the response of Guoxuan Hi-Tech today, in addition to improving the group efficiency through battery pack design and pack process improvement, it also relies more on chemical process improvements and raw material performance improvements to increase cell energy density.
