Since 2013, Zhang Shihong’s team from the Institute of Metals has cooperated with JXJT Copper Materials Research Institute and JXJT Precision Copper Tube Technology Company to develop seamless internally threaded copper pipes with large helix angles. By using advanced methods such as computer simulation and mold intelligent design, the large helix angle The key technologies for the industrialization of seamless internally threaded copper pipes have been systematically studied in terms of material properties, finite element simulation, and internal thread forming processes to realize the industrialized production and application of high-performance large helix angle seamless internally threaded copper pipes.

The development of this product has further improved China's precision copper tube manufacturing technology and led the technological progress of precision copper tube processing industries at home and abroad: developed copper tube drawing process design technology based on excellent performance control; developed internal thread copper tube mold intelligence Design platform; developed a series of seamless internally threaded copper pipes with large helix angles. The outer diameters of the pipes are Φ5, Φ7 and Φ9.52mm, respectively. The helix angle is 0.6-1.5 times higher than the original internally threaded copper pipe, and the meter weight is reduced. About 1.9%, the condensation heat transfer coefficient is 17% higher than that of ordinary internally threaded copper pipes.

The series of technical achievements of this project have been industrialized and applied in JXJT Precision Copper Tube Technology Co., Ltd. During the period from 2017 to 2019, more than 38,000 tons of large helix angle copper tubes were sold, bringing in sales revenue of more than 1.6 billion yuan. New products of large helix angle internally threaded copper pipes have been widely used by Midea, becoming a new generation of high-efficiency heat exchange copper pipes used by Midea's material-saving and energy-saving air conditioners. At the same time, the technology has also been industrialized in other domestic precision copper tube manufacturers.

The technological achievements of the project have filled the blanks in the design software of internally threaded copper tube forming molds in China, led the technological development of the copper tube processing industry, and promoted the industrialization process of the large helix angle internally threaded copper tube technology. The developed large helix angle internally threaded copper pipe product has high heat exchange efficiency and small meter weight. Its successful promotion and application have reduced the use of copper pipes in air conditioners, improved energy efficiency of air conditioners, and promoted the upgrading of the air conditioner industry and the saving of materials and energy. .
