On October 14, Nichia Chemical, Osram and Lumileds announced the latest results of a patent dispute with Lighting Science Group (LSG), a US LED product manufacturer. In this patent lawsuit, all three companies won the final victory.
In 2019, LSG filed a patent lawsuit against Nichia Chemical, Osram and LumiLEDs, claiming that these three LED manufacturers infringed LSG`s US patents, including patent numbers 7,528,421, 7,095,053, and 7,098,483.
On April 7 and October 1, 2020, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) issued a final judgment: The patent claimed by LSG is invalid, and Nichia, Osram and Lumileds did not infringe LSG's patent.
Based on this, Nichia Chemical, Osram and LumiLEDs announced the final results and stated that they will continue to take measures to deal with unreasonable allegations and protect their intellectual property rights.
