On December 26, the Changfei Qianjiang OVD preform expansion project was put into operation, with a total capacity of 1,500 tons, becoming the world's largest single-body preform production project.
The optical fiber preform is the part with the highest technological content and the highest cost structure in the optical fiber industry chain. YOFC is the only company in the world that has three preform production processes: PVCD, OVD, and VAD. The project in production this time uses the world's most advanced OVD process independently developed by YOFC, which will help reduce production costs and further enhance the competitive advantage of optical fiber preforms.
The first phase of the optical fiber industrialization project of Changfei Optical Fiber Qianjiang Co., Ltd. was put into production in March 2017. The production capacity of preforms reached 500 tons, and the output value was 1.36 billion yuan in the year when it was put into production. The annual capacity of the expansion project is 1,000 tons.
In the past two years, YOFC Fiber Optic Cable Co., Ltd. established the company's current most complex technology and the largest investment in the production of optical fiber rods in Qianjiang, creating a "Changfei speed".
